What You'll Do:
- Assist with circulating and scrubbing in surgical procedures, mainly ophthalmology and cataract surgeries
- Ensure adherence to sterile procedures and safety protocols during surgeries
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other OR team members to deliver patient-focused care
- Manage preoperative and postoperative patient care activities
- Document procedure details accurately in EMR (Cerner system)
- Maintain OR supplies and equipment readiness
- Provide support for outpatient procedures and limited inpatient care
What You Need:
Required:- Valid RN license
- Minimum of 1-year OR nursing experience, specifically with cataract procedures
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR system
- Strong sterile technique and team collaboration skills
- Previous experience in ophthalmology/eye surgery settings
- Ability to work scheduled days including Thanksgiving and Christmas blocks
- Own transportation (local candidates are ineligible; residents within 50 miles are not eligible)
