About the Shift Leader Role The Shift Leader is a full-time position that leads peers and supports the business with daily operations. You will protect and maintain our Judgement Free Zone® and coach team members to do the same. As our Shift Leader, you will lead peers through task completion and drive the success of club priorities and KPI goals. You will focus on providing an exceptional member experience through consistent communication and interaction with the team. Responsibilities Guiding peers to complete assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner. Model the behaviors to provide an outstanding member experience; coach and inspire others to do the same. Support team members with elevated member concerns. Greet members/guests as they enter and exit the club; assist them with questions or concerns during check-in. Promote the Judgement Free Zone® by connecting with members on the club floor and upholding club policies. Resolve member concerns and escalate to a Manager as needed. Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries. Perform membership related functions such as sign-ups, updating contact/billing information, cancellations, collecting unpaid balances, and transferring memberships. Perform prospective member calls and tours, assessing membership needs. Execute retail transactions with accuracy and drive sales goals. Perform regular cleaning and sanitizing of all exercise equipment and Black Card spa amenities, including communal spaces and your assigned area. Ensure restrooms are clean, sanitized, stocked, and clutter-free by following the routine cleaning schedule. Conduct regular club area walkthroughs; address safety/policy issues and cleanliness concerns. Address maintenance and facility concerns (e.g., broken or missing equipment) promptly. Compensation & Benefits The hourly pay range for this position is $17.00 to $18.50. Planet Fitness reserves the right to pay below or above the posted range based on factors unrelated to a person’s protected class. Certain benefits are offered to full-time employees only. About Your Qualifications 6-12 months of experience in a customer service environment is preferred. Proven background leading others. Must be 18 years of age or older. Willing to become CPR/AED Certified (Training provided by Planet Fitness). Basic computer proficiency. Physical Demands Continual standing and moving throughout the club to accomplish tasks during shift. Continual communication in person or on the phone to exchange information during shift. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. Will encounter toxic chemicals during shift. Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities. Moving self in different positions, including bending and twisting, to accomplish tasks.
