Salary: $60,000+ Basic salary

OTE $150,000 - $200,000 per annum.

\n

My client - an industrial automation and controls engineering firm specializing in motion control, servo/drive applications, PLC/HMI programming, robotics, and systems integration, is seeking a Motion Control Sales Engineer to join their team covering Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.

\n

\n

This role will focus on growing revenue for motion control products and integrated automation solutions through OEM and end-user account development.

\n

\n

The position will work closely with Engineering, Applications Support, Production, and Purchasing to identify technically sound solutions and carry opportunities from initial discovery through quotation, order, and delivery. The role will also provide opportunities to manage and develop regional distributor and representative relationships.

\n

\n

The Motion Control Sales Engineer role will involve:

\n

\n

\n
• Developing high-potential OEM and end-user accounts, while expanding relationships within existing customers
\n
• Specifying servo drives and motors, VFDs, PLC/HMI platforms, robotics, and related automation components
\n
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, machine-control architectures, and application requirements
\n
• Generating accurate quotations and maintaining a disciplined CRM pipeline with reliable forecasting
\n
• Managing, supporting, and training regional distributors and independent representative organizations
\n

\n

The Motion Control Sales Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

\n

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related discipline; equivalent experience considered
\n
• 5+ years of outside sales, applications engineering, or technical account-management experience within motion control, industrial automation, machine building, or industrial machinery
\n
• Working knowledge of servo systems, VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and integrated machine-control architectures
\n
• Proven account-development, forecasting, proposal, and negotiation skills
\n
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across engineering, operations, maintenance, purchasing, and executive levels
\n
• Willingness to travel within the OH/IN/KY territory (nationwide as required), and a valid driver's license
\n
• Experience competing against or differentiating from competitive automation products is beneficial
\n
