American Veterinary Hospital is looking for a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Technician to enhance our veterinary care team. As a vital member of our medical staff, you will be instrumental in providing exceptional care to our animal patients and supporting our veterinarians. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Duties
- Conducting initial evaluations of animal patients, including taking vital signs and collecting medical history
- Assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
- Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed
- Performing laboratory tests and operating diagnostic equipment
- Educating pet owners on animal health, care, and wellness
- Managing patient records and updating treatment plans
- Ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of the treatment and surgical areas
Skills
- Proficiency in handling and restraining animals safely
- Knowledge of veterinary software, Google Suite, and MS Office applications
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to high standards of animal care
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team
