Head of AI Clinical Excellence

Pfizer seeks a strategic leader to advance artificial intelligence applications across clinical development. This role involves partnering with cross-functional teams to identify, develop, and scale AI-driven capabilities that enhance trial design, operational efficiency, and regulatory readiness in drug development.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute enterprise strategy for AI-enabled clinical excellence across clinical development
Drive adoption of AI solutions for study design, patient recruitment, trial execution, and clinical data review
Partner with digital and data science teams to design, build, validate, and deploy AI-powered tools
Establish AI governance frameworks, validation approaches, and risk management processes with regulatory teams
Lead multidisciplinary teams and represent organization in industry forums and health authority interactions

Requirements

MD with 4+ years pharma/biotech/CRO/healthcare experience OR PhD in life sciences/clinical research/data science with 5+ years OR MS in related field with 7+ years
Experience designing and implementing AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics in clinical research settings
Background in clinical development, operations, science, data review, or regulatory science activities
Track record leading cross-functional programs with clinical, regulatory, scientific, and technical teams
Strong knowledge of GCP, clinical trial conduct, drug development, and regulatory requirements
Ability to translate complex scientific challenges into scalable technology solutions
Strong communication and executive influencing capabilities
