Director of Consumer Finance – Home Improvement

Location: Mountain Pine / Hot Springs, Arkansas
Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 base + highly competitive bonus
Working Pattern: Primarily office-based, 5 days per week with some flexibility
Relocation: $5,000 relocation package available

YourCode Recruitment is partnering with an established and highly successful US home improvement business to recruit a Director of Consumer Finance to take ownership of its consumer lending and financing strategy.

This is a senior, highly visible position reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with Sales, Marketing and Operations leadership.

The business operates across multiple home improvement categories, including windows, roofing and exterior products, and consumer finance plays a critical role in supporting its continued growth.

We are looking for an experienced consumer finance leader who understands how to build and optimise financing programmes, manage lender and fintech relationships, improve approval and funding performance, and ultimately help sales teams convert more homeowners into customers.

The Role

As Director of Consumer Finance, you will have overall responsibility for consumer financing programmes across the organisation.

You will manage existing lender relationships while identifying new banking, credit union and fintech partners that can strengthen the company's financing proposition.

A major part of the position will involve negotiating rates, terms and dealer fees, analysing financing performance and ensuring the business has competitive finance options available across its different product lines.

Responsibilities will include:

• Owning the company's consumer lending and financing programmes across multiple home improvement product categories.

• Managing and developing relationships with third-party lenders, banks, credit unions and fintech financing providers.

• Negotiating rates, lending terms and dealer fees to improve sales conversion while protecting company profitability.

• Evaluating new financing partners and products to broaden the options available to homeowners.

• Monitoring approval rates, DSO, delinquency, defaults and overall portfolio performance.

• Analysing the funding pipeline and identifying areas where loan approval or funding processes can be improved.

• Ensuring financing programmes comply with relevant federal and state consumer lending regulations, including TILA and Regulation Z.

• Developing lender scorecards and reporting financing performance and portfolio health to senior leadership.

• Working closely with Sales, Marketing and Operations to align financing strategy with wider revenue and growth objectives.

• Training and supporting sales teams and in-home consultants to confidently present financing options and handle customer objections.

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates who have operated within consumer finance, home improvement financing, residential services or another high-volume consumer lending environment .

Ideally, you will have:

• 7+ years' progressive experience within consumer finance, lending or a related financial leadership position.

• Direct experience managing relationships with lenders and/or fintech financing providers.

• Strong knowledge of consumer credit underwriting and structured finance models.

• Experience negotiating lender terms, rates and dealer fees.

• A strong understanding of financing performance metrics and portfolio risk.

• Knowledge of US consumer lending compliance, including TILA, Regulation Z and state-level lending requirements.

• The ability to analyse loan performance and identify opportunities to improve approval and funding processes.

• Excellent commercial, negotiation and relationship-management skills.

• Confidence working directly with executive leadership and presenting financing performance at senior level.

• Experience within home improvement, home services, roofing, windows, exteriors or residential construction would be particularly valuable.

A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline is preferred, with an MBA considered advantageous.

Location & Relocation

The position is based near Mountain Pine / Hot Springs, Arkansas and is predominantly an office-based leadership role.

Candidates should therefore either already live within a reasonable commuting distance or be prepared to relocate to the area.

For candidates relocating for the opportunity, the company can provide a $5,000 relocation package .

There is some flexibility within the working arrangement, but candidates should be comfortable with this being primarily a five-day-per-week office-based position.
