Infectious Disease Physician

Physician – Infectious Diseases (General Infectious Diseases) Open Rank/Track Faculty Position Overview The Division of Infectious Diseases is actively recruiting an Infectious Diseases specialist with interest and/or expertise in general ID and HIV. This position will provide inpatient infectious diseases consultative services within the Medical Center on Main Campus and OSU East Hospital. The physician will also be expected to maintain an ambulatory longitudinal care clinic. In addition to coverage of general ID services, opportunities exist for coverage of several service lines, including a dedicated solid organ transplant service, Telehealth, and community hospital consultation. The division has established and maintains a robust Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) program, seeing approximately 2,200 patients last year. The physician will participate in scholarly activities including clinical research and quality improvement projects. Responsibilities Provide inpatient infectious diseases consultative services as needed. Determine, prescribe and implement treatment plans and/or required medications. Maintain an ambulatory longitudinal care clinic. Provide instructional training to fellows, housestaff, medical students and ancillary staff. Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities. Cover additional service lines such as solid organ transplant, Telehealth and community hospital consultation. Requirements MD, DO or equivalent. Board certification or eligibility in Infectious Diseases. Licensure in the State of Ohio (or eligibility to obtain). Exceptional critical thinking skills and ability to work independently. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
