About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Tele Duration: 13 or 26 week contract option Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a large, urban hospital setting License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, CPI preferred Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience - Previous travel experience - Ability to manage cardiac drips and vasoactive drips Description: This is a specialty medical/surgical unit that is fast-paced and will provide growth in professional knowledge and expertise in the care of cardiovascular patients. The staff will provide care for specialty patients, such as stable heart and lung transplants, and Ventricular Assist Devices. The unit has defined patient ratios, which are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. RNs must be prepared to float to different units as needed to meet staffing requirements. Weekend shifts are required, with the expectation to work 4 weekends out of every 8 possible in a four-week period. Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. A commitment to tobacco-free practices is essential, as this is a nicotine-free facility. The unit has support from care teams that includes care techs, transport teams, and LPNs. This position requires maintaining compliance with all facility policies and procedures. Clinical skills in telemetry and cardiology are necessary, including the interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of IV insulin protocols. All candidates must comply with COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
