Position TitleSenior Clinical Communications LiaisonDays - Full TimeBroadmoor CampusPosition Summary / Career Interest:The Senior Clinical Communications Liaison will be responsible for developing and executing strategic, comprehensive communications plans, clinical communications projects, and routine communications for clinical audiences in support of large scale initiatives, program launches and product lines throughout The University of Kansas Health System. In this role, routine communications will include recurring, operational and day to day messaging for clinical audiences, ensuring timely, clear and consistent flow of information. Strategic communications projects will focus on complex, high impact initiatives that require thoughtful planning, stakeholder engagement and message alignment to support clinical and organizational priorities.The senior clinical communications liaison will use clinical experience to shape clear, credible messages that resonate with clinical audiences and support communication goals. The senior clinical communications liaison will work closely with executives, product line leaders and cross functional teams to best serve employee communication needs and ensure alignment of critical messages within the organization.Responsibilities and Essential Job FunctionsServe as a corporate communications consultant with day-to-day customer managementManage customer expectations and participate in department meetingsLead the development and deploy measurable, creative, integrated and effective employee communication materials and programs that consistently reach employees at all campuses as well as partner locations as neededCreate and manage customer relations and communication tools, including newsletters and websitesWrite employee news articles, product line literature, presentations, leadership bios, etc. in support of strategic plansCascade key product line messages and drive them system-widePartner with product line leadership to develop communication programs that address business needs, issues or others areas of concernEvaluate strategic communication plan results against objectivesPartner with product line leadership to educate employees on initiativesWork directly with freelancers and vendors to successfully execute projectsEnsure alignment of product line communications with the health system’s vision and strategiesProvide regular communications support for product line leaders and communications guidance and planning assistance as neededPlan, drive and manage specialty programs, moderated web chats and webcastsSupport corporate communications initiativesAssist with crisis communications as neededUnderstand security and privacy requirements associated with healthcare communicationsMust be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.These statements are intended to describe the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as required.Required Education and ExperienceBachelors Degree in a licensed clinical profession or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.5 or more years of experience providing patient care in nursing or another licensed clinical profession or experience as a clinical educator (example, burn nurse educator, etc).3 or more years of healthcare experienced.Preferred Education and ExperienceMaster's Degree in Communications from an accredited college or university.5 or more years of experience executing strategic communications plans and delivering at the tactical level OR5 or more years of experience working on team in pursuit of Magnet or another type of accreditation status for a hospital or health system.5 or more years of experience with written communication, presentation, and planning skills in communications or in patient or peer education in a clinical field.3 or more years of communications experience with print, video, social media, and web technologies.3 or more years of experience in all aspects of account /client management.3 or more years of experience working directly with clients on day-to-day activities.3 or more years of experience with website content management.Time Type:Full timeJob Requisition ID:R-54180Important information for you to know as you apply:The health system is an equal employment opportunity employer.
