POSITION DETAILS
Work that supports recovery — on a schedule that respects your life.
At Addictions Recovery Center (ARC) , we know recovery rarely follows a straight line—and no two people find their way forward in exactly the same way. That’s why our approach begins with the person: where they are today, what they’ve experienced, what matters to them, and what they need to build a life in recovery that can last.
As an Outpatient CADC Counselor , you’ll be part of that journey. You’ll build meaningful therapeutic relationships with individuals navigating substance use and recovery, helping them understand patterns, recognize strengths, work through barriers, and turn possibility into practical next steps.
Through individual and group counseling, assessment, treatment planning, education, and connection to additional supports, you’ll bring both clinical expertise and humanity to the work. And you won’t do it alone.
You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team committed to coordinated, trauma-informed care and the belief that every person deserves to be met with dignity, respect, and hope.
Join a team where your clinical expertise, compassion, and ability to build meaningful connections contribute every day to helping individuals create lasting change and move forward in recovery.
Why You’ll Love Working at ARC
- A true four-day, 32-hour workweek that supports meaningful work-life balance
- The opportunity to build strong therapeutic relationships and support clients throughout their recovery
- A dynamic clinical role with variety—from individual and group counseling to assessment, treatment planning, and care coordination
- A collaborative, multidisciplinary team that brings different perspectives and expertise together to support the whole person
- A values-driven culture grounded in transparency, equity, respect, dignity, and recovery
- The opportunity to do meaningful work while being part of a team that believes people can and do recovery
What You’ll Do
Your day-to-day work centers on building strong therapeutic relationships and helping individuals turn recovery goals into meaningful, sustainable change.
You’ll combine clinical expertise with a person-centered, trauma-informed approach—meeting each client where they are while helping them build the skills, supports, and confidence to move forward.
On a typical week, you will:
- Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based, recovery-oriented approaches
- Conduct assessments and ongoing evaluations to understand each client’s strengths, needs, challenges, and goals
- Develop individualized treatment plans in partnership with clients and adjust them as needs and progress evolve
- Help clients identify barriers to recovery, develop practical coping strategies, and build skills that support long-term stability
- Provide education and guidance related to substance use disorders, recovery, relapse prevention, and strategies for maintaining progress
- Monitor client progress, recognize successes, address challenges, and help clients remain connected to their goals
- Coordinate care with medical providers, mental health professionals, recovery mentors, case managers, and other members of the care team
- Connect clients with housing, vocational, community, recovery, and other supportive resources when appropriate
- Respond effectively to urgent needs and crises using trauma-informed intervention and sound clinical judgment
- Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required documentation accurately and on time
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2 , applicable regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and ARC confidentiality expectations
- Bring compassion, professionalism, appropriate boundaries, and respect to every interaction
- Contribute to a collaborative environment where communication, clinical expertise, and teamwork support each person’s unique path toward recovery
If you value building meaningful therapeutic relationships, helping people recognize their strengths, and supporting lasting change through compassionate, individualized care, your work can make a meaningful difference here.
