Radiation Therapist

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering prescribed radiation treatments to patients in a safe, accurate, and compassionate manner. Working under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist and in collaboration with Medical Physicists and Dosimetrists, the Radiation Therapist ensures precise treatment delivery while maintaining patient comfort and adherence to safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Administer radiation treatments according to physician prescriptions and approved treatment plans. Operate and maintain linear accelerators and related radiation therapy equipment. Verify treatment parameters and patient positioning prior to each session. Monitor patients during treatment and respond appropriately to patient needs or concerns. Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation. Follow all radiation safety protocols and quality assurance procedures. Assist in CT simulation procedures and patient immobilization. Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, and Dosimetrists to ensure optimal care. Educate patients on treatment procedures and safety guidelines. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to regulatory and accreditation standards. Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program. Certification by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Radiation Therapy. Experience 1–3 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist preferred. Experience working in a radiation oncology clinical setting. Familiarity with modern radiation therapy techniques and equipment.
