Anesthesiologist Opportunity

Opening for an anesthesiologist to join nationally recognized 75-bed Christiana Care, Union Hospital in Elkton, MD. Licensed for 75 beds, this innovative facility combines the latest technology and a supportive atmosphere to offer advanced, effective care for treating and preventing disease. Building on its 110-year history of service, the full-service hospital is committed to providing the people of Cecil County, MD, and neighboring communities in southern Pennsylvania and Delaware with high-quality, personalized healthcare.

Responsibilities include assisting in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department, responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures. Pre-anesthesia assessment, obtaining and/or verifying patient consent, discussing anesthetic options and risks with the patient, induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia, and monitoring of the patient's physiological condition are also part of the role.

Requirements include an M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine, ECFMG and FLEX completion, and completion of an approved residency in anesthesia. Currently licensed as a physician.
