Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly capable Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to patients who require closer monitoring and a higher level of care than a traditional medical-surgical unit. In this role, you will assess patients, administer medications, manage cardiac and other titratable drips, monitor changes in patient condition, and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.

Stepdown RN Responsibilities:

• Providing direct nursing care to patients in a Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit.
• Monitoring patients with complex and higher-acuity medical conditions.
• Performing comprehensive patient assessments and recognizing changes in condition.
• Administering medications and treatments according to physician orders.
• Managing and titrating continuous IV drips as required.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms and other patient vital signs.
• Caring for patients requiring telemetry and close observation.
• Managing patients with respiratory support, including tracheostomies, ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP as applicable.
• Caring for patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, seizures, altered mental status, and other neuro-related diagnoses.
• Developing and implementing individualized nursing care plans.
• Collaborating with physicians, respiratory therapists, nursing assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintaining accurate patient documentation and electronic medical records.
• Educating patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and ongoing care.
• Responding promptly to changes in patient condition and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients.
• Floating to other appropriate units based on facility needs and clinical competency.

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent MS, PCU/Stepdown, or ICU experience
• Recent experience in the specialty within the last 1 year
• BLS certification required

Gross Pay (weekly): $2545.0

Taxable Pay (weekly): 1278.0

Non-taxable Pay (weekly): 1267.0
