Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic System Safety Engineer who is fueled by high accountability, execution horsepower, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond.Position SummarySince Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy System Safety Engineer, who is fueled by problem-solving, continuously curious, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesConducting system level hazard analysis for the Axiom Station, Axiom Exploration Extravehicular Activity System (AxEVAS) or payloads on Private Astronaut Missions to the International Space Station (ISS)Conducting Safety Analyses and documenting results (Preliminary Hazards Analysis, System Hazard Analysis, Hazard Tracking, Functional Hazard, Fault Tree, and Safety Assessments)Generation of Hazard ReportsAssist with the definition and maintenance of system level control strategies, including Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery (FDIR) strategies, hazardous mitigation, and systemParticipate in and support the System Safety Working Groups, Safety Review Panels, Technical Interchange and Change Review Board meetingsCoordinating with verification and validation (V&V) personnel to ensure safety-critical requirements are tested at an acceptable level of rigorPerform anomaly and nonconformance analysis, tracking and resolution verificationDevelop S&MA reports/presentations to S&MA and program leadershipProvide support to all Axiom programs as requiredOther duties as assignedCommunicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadershipImplementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecyclePerform additional job duties as assignedQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
