Job Title Screw Machine Operator Job Details Location: 40 Chestnut Avenue, Westmont, IL 60559 Work Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday Starting Pay Range: $27 – $30 per hour Responsibilities Perform full screw machine set‑ups and changeovers, installing cams, gears, collets, bushings, and tooling. Operate one or more screw machines, load bar stock, and monitor production to ensure continuous, efficient operation. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine part specifications and requirements. Conduct first‑piece and in‑process inspections using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and optical comparators. Make adjustments to offsets and tooling to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish within tight tolerances. Identify and resolve minor machine malfunctions, tooling wear, and quality issues. Perform routine operator‑level preventative maintenance, such as checking and refilling fluid levels, clearing chips, and maintaining a clean work area. Accurately document all production logs, quality documentation, and traceability records. Adhere to all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized (5S) workspace. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Proven, in‑depth experience in screw machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting. Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, especially with brass cutting. Willingness to learn and progress in responsibilities. Experience installing and setting dovetail form tools, shave tools, knee turners, and thread‑rolling attachments. Experience performing drilling, counterboring, reaming, tapping, die‑head threading, thread rolling, spot facing, and stock maintenance. Preferred experience with pick‑off attachments and roll stamping. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
