Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join a hospital in Kapaa, HI as a traveling Physical Therapist where you will help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while experiencing life in a new location. You will provide evaluations and treatments across inpatient and outpatient settings, including acute, ICU, SNF, and hospital-based outpatient clinic. A full PT schedule will include mixed in- and outpatients every 30–45 minutes, with one-hour new evaluations, and may range from approximately 5 to 15 patients per day. You must obtain a Hawaii PT license as soon as possible.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
• Active Hawaii Physical Therapy license required prior to or obtained as soon as possible for the assignment.
• Experience in acute care, ICU, and outpatient settings. Experience treating SNF and mobility progression through discharge planning required.
• Ability to work independently in a rural setting and manage a full outpatient and inpatient caseload.
• Comfort and experience working in ER, ICU, Med/Surg (acute, observation, SNF), and outpatient clinic settings.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in rural or island healthcare settings.
• Experience with a mixed schedule of acute, outpatient, and SNF patients and strong discharge planning skills.

Assignment Details

• M-F 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with a lunch 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.; flexibility of work hours may occur.
• Saturdays required. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK SATURDAYS. NO EXCEPTIONS.
• Primary duties: PT evaluations and treatments across inpatient (approximately 25%) and outpatient (approximately 75%) settings.
• Caseload mix includes ER, ICU, Med/Surg, occasional OB, and hospital-based outpatient clinic.
