Operating from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck, you will manage the flow of cylinders while building lasting relationships with the customers you visit. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Cylinder Handling : Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations. Record Keeping : Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt. Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling. Safety and Compliance : Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA. Warehouse Support : Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed. Ready to Fill Your Potential? A Day in the Life of an Airgas Delivery Driver Click Here Required Qualifications Valid CA Class A Commercial Driver's License. Valid Medical Examiner's Card. Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications. One year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five years and a commitment to road safety to include no more than two convictions, or two at-fault accidents in the last three years; or no more than a combination of one conviction and one at-fault accident in the last three years. Graduates with a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one year of prior driving experience within the last five years are welcome. Candidates should be at least 21 years or older. Proficiency in navigating and comprehending material safety data sheets. Ability to routinely lift 25-75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment. Ideally, comfortable operating vehicles with hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also part of our daily operations. Availability to support the team with occasional overtime if necessary. Ability to obtain and maintain collaborative safety credentials for customer site access. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in operating heavy machinery (Forklift/Moffett). Benefits We care about and support our Airgas Families.
