Senior Electrical Estimator

Williams Electric & HVAC is hiring a Senior Electrical Estimator to prepare complete estimates for commercial and light industrial electrical projects. This is a hands-on role for someone who can independently take projects from initial document review through takeoff, pricing, scope development, and final proposal. You will work with our preconstruction team, project managers, and field personnel to develop accurate bids, identify risks, and support successful project turnover. You will also help mentor junior estimators and review supporting takeoffs. Williams Electric & HVAC serves the Dallas-Fort Worth area across commercial construction, tenant finish-outs, warehouses, manufacturing, healthcare, municipal, and light industrial projects. Our work ranges from smaller renovations to multimillion-dollar electrical contracts. Responsibilities Prepare complete electrical estimates, including labor, material, equipment, subcontractor pricing, and indirect costs. Perform detailed takeoffs and review drawings, specifications, schedules, and addenda. Develop estimates using Trimble Accubid Anywhere. Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations for scope coverage, accuracy, and exclusions. Identify scope gaps, design conflicts, constructability concerns, and pricing risks. Prepare proposals, alternates, scope summaries, clarifications, and exclusions. Support preliminary budgets and value-engineering options as needed. Coordinate with project managers and field personnel to validate labor assumptions and installation approaches. Present estimates for final review and explain key assumptions, costs, and risks. Mentor junior estimators and review assigned takeoffs and pricing. Participate in turnover meetings, communicating bid scope, budget assumptions, and procurement considerations. Help maintain estimating databases, labor units, assemblies, and current pricing. Required qualifications At least five years of direct commercial or industrial electrical estimating experience with an electrical contractor. Proven ability to independently prepare complete estimates from initial document review through final proposal. Experience estimating multimillion-dollar commercial or light industrial electrical projects. Strong understanding of electrical drawings, specifications, construction methods, labor requirements, and applicable NEC requirements. Proficiency with Trimble Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, or comparable electrical estimating software. Ability to evaluate vendor quotations, identify scope gaps, and develop complete labor and material pricing. Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple bid deadlines.
