What this job involves:The Portfolio Energy & Strategy Manager will serve a single client as a member of a large, global sustainability team. Reporting to the Americas sustainability team lead, you will drive the development and execution of an energy, water, and waste management program in order to meet the client's energy, water, and carbon footprint reduction and landfill diversion goals working through JLL's Integrated Facilities Management team. You will develop and execute an energy management strategy for a portfolio of sites, implement comprehensive programs to reach objectives, and act as the subject matter expert to educate and guide key stakeholders on energy and sustainability topics and requests. This role requires you to support corporate reporting objectives, provide management information relating to the use of utilities and the impact on the internal and external environment, and manage the energy, waste, and water data collection process within JLL's technology platform. You will drive operational improvements through the identification and implementation of opportunities to improve energy and sustainability performance across extensive real estate portfolios, collaborate with other JLL energy managers to share best practices, and engage with JLL facility managers to become the key point of contact for the provision of wide-ranging advice in relation to all aspects of environmental sustainability.What your day-to-day will look like:Develop and execute an energy management strategy for a portfolio of sites, implementing comprehensive programs to reach sustainability objectivesAct as the subject matter expert to educate and guide key stakeholders on energy and sustainability topics and requests, supporting corporate reporting objectivesManage the energy, waste, and water data collection process within JLL's technology platform, producing monthly and quarterly reports tailored to meet client-specific requirementsDrive operational improvements through the identification and implementation of opportunities to improve energy and sustainability performance across extensive real estate portfoliosCollaborate with other JLL energy managers to share best practices, develop case studies, and develop new business opportunitiesEngage with JLL facility managers to become the key point of contact for the provision of wide-ranging advice in relation to all aspects of environmental sustainabilityDevelop and enhance systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance and use of utility and sustainability management systems for monitoring and reporting purposesProvide technical training and mentor more junior colleagues, leading the technical support team to solve complex problems, plan and prioritize deadlines, and think strategically to identify innovative solutions.Required Qualifications:University Degree (Science, engineering, math, or related fields)5-10 years of experience working in the Energy/Sustainability field with progressively increasing responsibilitiesSpecialized technical understanding of the most common HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and building automation systems and their impact on sustainability goalsAdvanced understanding of energy and water conservation measuresStrong ability to analyze corporate portfolio by benchmarking and reviewing utility data to drive sustainability measuresAdvanced understanding of Greenhouse Gas Emission scopes and reportingFamiliarity with energy procurement process and renewable energy optionsAbility to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of viewAbility to lead the technical support team to solve complex problems, plan and prioritize deadlines, and think strategically to identify innovative solutions.Preferred Qualifications:Experience conducting site walkthroughs in order to find conservation measures (e.g., ASHRAE Level 1 and 2)Strong project management skills and an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a high pressure, deadline-driven environmentExperience in the preparation of tenders and work orders and the ability to select appropriate equipment and service vendorsSpecialized knowledge of environmental reporting, utility management and energy budgets, an environmental improvement program, and ISO 14001 complianceExperience working with multifunctional teams in order to drive resultsExperience managing small teams of energy and sustainability professionalsTrack record of developing and executing carbon footprint reduction and landfill diversion programsExperience with utility and sustainability management systems for monitoring and reporting purposesBackground working with Integrated Facilities Management teams on sustainability initiativesAbility to think strategically, simplify the complex, solve complex problems, and see the big pictureLearning agility with intellectual curiosity and appetite for risks.Location: OnsiteAt JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way — for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employees.
