Job Title Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Somatic / Tumor Genomics Location Multiple positions available across the U.S. Territory size and geography may vary and will be assigned based on evolving business needs and the location of the selected candidate. Description This field‑based, scientifically focused role supports liquid and tumor profiling across solid tumors, including MRD testing, NGS‑based assays, biomarker‑driven therapy selection, resistance mechanisms, and treatment monitoring. The MSL engages with medical oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, surgeons, molecular pathologists, and urologists across academic centers and community oncology practices, serving as a conduit of clinical expertise, scientific exchange, and insights that inform medical strategy. The position reports to the Director of Medical Affairs, Somatic, and partners closely with Medical Affairs colleagues, product, R&D, clinical operations, marketing, commercial teams, and cross‑functional leadership. Responsibilities Demonstrate deep knowledge of Myriad's liquid and tumor profiling portfolio, including biomarkers, targeted therapies, immuno‑oncology, therapy selection pathways, tumor biology, and NGS‑based testing. Stay current on emerging clinical data, guidelines (NCCN, ASCO, ESMO), competitive trends, and evolving precision oncology treatment standards. Attend and represent Myriad at national and regional medical conferences for scientific engagement and insight reporting. Build and maintain relationships with regional and national KOLs in oncology, molecular pathology, and related specialties. Contribute to the Somatic Medical Affairs team through collaboration, best‑practice sharing, and training. Continually advance and grow with market issues, trends, and monitor the competitive landscape, and product knowledge specific to key therapeutic areas. Respond to scientific and medical inquiries on somatic testing, assay selection, biomarker interpretation, therapy alignment, and clinical utility. Deliver clinical and scientific education (virtual and in‑person) to oncologists, surgeons, molecular pathologists, APPs, health systems, tumor boards, and professional societies. Provide guidance on interpreting MRD or complex NGS reports and integrating results into treatment decisions. Increase awareness of Myriad's somatic test portfolio, enhance appropriate utilization, and support evidence‑based precision oncology. Provide clinical support during KOL meetings with and without commercial partners. Identify opportunities for scientific engagement, educational support, and clinical collaboration within the territory. Communicate clinical landscape insights to Medical Affairs leadership to inform strategy, product evolution, and evidence generation. Participate in advisory boards, expert panels, KOL roundtables, publication planning discussions, and PLR (Promotional Literature Review) activities as appropriate. Partner with cross‑functional teams (Medical, Product, R&D, Marketing, Market Access, Training) on clinical content development and internal scientific training. Support scientific review, interpretation, and development of clinical messaging for new data, assays, or product updates. Attend sales meetings and partner with area sales manager and marketing to facilitate and/or present information, as needed. Educate the sales team on current clinical practice, guideline advancements, and aid in sales training to elevate their skillset. Qualifications Advanced scientific or clinical degree required: PhD, MS/Genetic Counseling, NP/PA, MD, PharmD or related field. Minimum of 7 years of clinical, industry, and/or research experience, with at least 5 years as an MSL (or similar) experience, preferably within a diagnostic laboratory setting. Deep understanding of biomarkers, targeted therapy pathways, resistance mechanisms, oncology guidelines/management, and molecular profiling and/or MRD testing. Ability to interpret and clearly communicate complex molecular data. Demonstrated experience engaging clinicians, KOLs, and academic groups. Excellent presentation, communication, and scientific storytelling skills. Willing and able to travel. Typical travel is expected to be 50‑60%, may be up to 80% at times depending on territory/needs, including occasional weekends and willingness to undergo territory changes as deemed appropriate by Myriad. Effectively manage travel and maintain expenses within budget. Significant Work Activities Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (> 2 consecutive hours in an 8‑hour day). Keyboard use (greater or equal to 50% of the workday). Driving a personal vehicle / rental car and flying across the U.S. Travel: typical travel is expected to be 50‑60%, may be up to 80% at times; includes occasional weekends for conferences/meetings and willingness to undergo territory changes.
