Maintaining an orderly x-ray room as directed is required. Preparing radiopaque contrast media and assisting physicians in administering these mixtures to patients is also part of the job. Administrative duties include scheduling appointments, providing patient instructions, filing films, maintaining records, and receiving patients as necessary. The technologist renders services and assistance to all patients, depending on their individual needs and abilities in moving, turning, and getting on and off the x-ray tables. They lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours a day.
