Infectious Disease Physician

Whitecap Search Healthcare Partners is seeking a physician to join a well-established team within a community health organization. This role involves providing both primary care and infectious disease services, with a focus on HIV and Hepatitis care.

Function

The role is expected to be approximately 70% primary care and 30% infectious disease. The main services include HIV and Hepatitis care, with an opportunity to follow patients for primary care through a grant from the Ryan White HIV/AIDS program. The organization is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) offering primary care, behavioral health, and dental health services.

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
• Part-Time Consideration: Minimum 1 day/week, 3 days/week (24 hours) qualifies for full benefits
• Call Schedule: 9 weeks out of the year (every 5-6 weeks), includes carrying a pager during the week and working 4 hours on a Saturday with incentive pay for seeing more than 2 patients per hour
• Patient Load: Average of 18-20 patients scheduled per day with some no-shows expected
• Support: Approximately 1 RN for every 2 providers, with additional support from medical assistants

This is a full-time permanent position offering free health insurance for individuals and families, federal tort malpractice coverage, CME, PTO, and a profit-sharing program after 1 year of employment.

Requirements

• Training in Infectious Disease Not Required
• Internal Medicine/Family Medicine with experience in HIV/Hepatitis care can be considered
• License in the state of CT
• Board Certification
• Spanish skills preferred, not required

Saturday Incentive Pay

$110/hr for an 8am-12pm shift. If the average is 2 or more patients per hour, an additional $90 per patient is earned. At a minimum, this results in $3,960 from 4-hour shifts, 9 times a year.
