Otak is currently seeking to hire a Water Resources Project Manager to join our Water and Natural Resources team in our Redmond or Everett office. This person will support our project and development initiatives, such as: urban stormwater retrofit, stormwater treatment/management, green infrastructure, restoration of river/stream/wetland systems, fish passage, hydrologic analysis, hydraulic analyses (pipes and open channel), geomorphic analyses, flood hazard mitigation, and surface water planning.

Otak scientists and engineers are highly educated and experienced in the fields of ecology, wetland science, water quality, water resources, fluvial geomorphology, botany, aquatic biology, and fisheries. We prepare technical reports that document environmental baseline conditions and fully satisfy regulatory reporting criteria for permitting and compliance requirements at the local, county, state, and federal levels.

How You'll Contribute:
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams and project delivery, with a focus on stormwater infrastructure, fish passage, river and stream restoration, and flood mitigation projects in Puget Sound.
  • Prepare various reports supporting design decisions and permitting.
  • Direct and oversee the preparation of floodplain and watershed studies, hydrologic and hydraulic design reports, and construction documents.
  • Guide staff in preparing design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules and budgets.
  • Participate in team strategy meetings on business development and technical delivery.
  • Support client development and proposal activities.
  • Support Otak's Transportation, Planning, and Architecture business units.
The Strengths You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering required (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of previous Project Management/Project Engineering experience in stream/river restoration design, or related field.
  • Must possess a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with preparation of construction documents for project designs and permits supported by hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic calculations.
  • Demonstrated success managing projects from design through construction.
  • Experience with SWMM, HSPF, HEC-RAS, SRH-2D or similar hydrologic and hydraulic models.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, and/or AutoCAD.
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple project tasks with simultaneous deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and work location as well as market and business considerations. Salary Range: $115,000-155,000 per year
