Perfect Fit

Must have 5+ years of hands-on production Data Engineering or Software Engineering experience with strong Python, advanced SQL, and production data pipeline development.
Strong experience with SFTP/FTPS, PGP/GPG-encrypted file transfers, EFT/file processing, data reconciliation, validation, error handling, retry logic, monitoring, and alerting.
Proven ability to automate manual operational processes and troubleshoot production data issues, ideally with Snowflake and healthcare EDI/X12 experience (834, 835, 837).
Do Not Send

Job Description

Summary

Personify Health is seeking a hands-on Data Operations Engineer to build, support, and improve secure data integrations and automated file-processing workflows. This role is heavily focused on EFT/file transfers, Python, SQL, data quality, automation, reconciliation, monitoring, and production support. The ideal candidate will be comfortable owning production data processes, troubleshooting issues, eliminating recurring manual work through automation, and working with sensitive and confidential data.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain secure SFTP/FTPS and PGP-encrypted file transfer processes.
Develop repeatable workflows for onboarding and managing inbound and outbound partner data feeds.
Build automated file validation, reconciliation, error handling, retry, monitoring, and alerting processes.
Develop production-quality Python for data ingestion, transformation, reconciliation, validation, and operational automation.
Write complex SQL for data validation, reconciliation, uniqueness checks, variance analysis, and trend analysis.
Monitor production data pipelines and proactively identify data quality, processing, and integration issues.
Troubleshoot production failures and perform detailed root-cause analysis.
Identify recurring manual processes and replace them with reliable automation and monitoring.
Create technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks to support production operations.
Partner with engineering, data, and business teams to resolve data integration and processing issues.
Work with sensitive and confidential information while following appropriate security, access, privacy, and data-handling practices.

Qualifications

5+ years of production Software Engineering or Data Engineering experience.
Strong hands-on experience with EFT/file transfers, SFTP, FTPS, and PGP/GPG.
Strong Python development skills.
Advanced SQL skills including CTEs, joins, window functions, reconciliation, and data validation.
Experience with Snowflake or an equivalent enterprise data warehouse.
Experience building, monitoring, and supporting production data pipelines.
Strong understanding of data quality, reconciliation, monitoring, error handling, and operational reliability.
Demonstrated automation mindset with experience eliminating repetitive manual processes.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with sensitive, confidential, or regulated data.

Preferred Qualifications

Healthcare data experience, particularly EDI/X12, 834, 835, or 837 .
Experience with Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or similar workflow orchestration platforms.
Experience with Pandera, Great Expectations, dbt, or similar data-quality frameworks.
CI/CD experience.
Cloud infrastructure experience.
Demonstrated success reducing operational incidents, processing time, or costs through automation.
