The Bus Driver is responsible for maintaining a safe and respectful environment while ensuring compliance with all districts, state, and federal transportation regulations. The Bus Driver is responsible for maintaining a safe and respectful environment while ensuring compliance with all districts, state, and federal transportation regulations. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum Qualifications
- Clear and valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation drug/alcohol screenings and annual physical examinations.
- Ability to complete and maintain required bus driver safety training and certifications.
- Strong communication, organizational, and student management skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to safely operate a school bus and use GPS and routing systems.
- Operate school bus, GPS, two-way radio, and safety equipment including fire extinguishers, flares, and reflective signs.
- Prolonged sitting and driving; frequent standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing.
- Frequent reaching, grasping, walking, and stair climbing.
- Light lifting and carrying up to 15 pounds.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, vehicle fumes, moving traffic, and irregular work hours.
- Ability to maintain emotional control, professionalism, and sound judgment under stress.
