Medical Assistant II

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant II to serve as the first point of contact for patient care in an outpatient clinical setting. This role combines direct patient care with administrative responsibilities and supports physicians and nursing staff in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The Medical Assistant II works in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and performs moderately complex clinical and operational tasks within defined guidelines. This is a patient-facing role and participation in a Tuberculosis (TB) screening program is required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and serve as the initial point of contact during clinic visits
• Discuss symptoms with patients and accurately document information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Take and record vital signs
• Administer injections and perform diagnostic tests within certification scope
• Collect specimens and perform blood draws
• Sterilize and clean medical equipment
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to support patient care
• Perform administrative and operational tasks as needed to support clinic workflow
• Follow established policies, procedures, and quality standards while managing task prioritization

Required Qualifications

• 13 years of Medical Assistant experience in back-office, direct patient care
• Active Medical Assistant certification or registration (RMA or CMA)
• Applicable state licensure
• Current CPR certification
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Team-oriented mindset with a patient-first approach
• Willingness to participate in TB screening as required for patient-facing roles
• Passion for contributing to an organization focused on improving patient and consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages)
• Hands-on phlebotomy experience
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Familiarity with HEDIS measures
• Active certification from one or more of the following:
• American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
• American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
• National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
• American Medical Technologist (AMT)
• Radiologic Technologist license (ARRT)
