Travel Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Location: Richland, Washington
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,720–$1,850
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel respiratory therapy contract
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• End Date: February 15, 2027
• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, approximately 36 hours weekly
• Shift Options: Day shift, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., or night shift, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Scheduling Expectations: Rotating schedule with every-other-weekend coverage required; no on-call requirement
• Healthcare Setting: Acute-care hospital respiratory therapy department
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Orientation: Approximately 24 hours

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Registered Respiratory Therapist experience; first-time travelers may be considered
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Valid Washington state or compact license in hand at the time of submission
• Current experience with electronic documentation; Epic experience required
• Experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Ability to provide respiratory therapy and patient care across neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
• Ability to float between hospital units and adapt to patient acuity and staffing needs
• Willingness to work every other weekend and commit to three of five designated holidays when scheduled
• Two professional references covering at least one year of experience within the last three years

Registered Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions
• Manage oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, nebulizer therapies, CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, mechanical ventilation, and ventilator weaning
• Perform and interpret arterial and capillary blood gases
• Assist with intubation, extubation, bronchoscopy, high-risk deliveries, and neonatal transports
• Provide tracheostomy care, airway suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, chest physiotherapy, and airway management
• Support patients requiring advanced respiratory therapies, including nitric oxide and high-frequency ventilation
• Respond to emergency and critical-care situations while maintaining patient safety and clinical standards
• Document respiratory assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, rehabilitation staff, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members
