Civil Project Manager – Multifamily & Land DevelopmentPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of civil engineering and site development activities for multifamily residential and land development projects. This individual will oversee all civil-related aspects of project delivery, including grading, utilities, stormwater systems, roadway improvements, permitting, and infrastructure construction.The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing civil scopes for multifamily developments, possesses strong leadership skills, and is committed to delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the planning and execution of civil engineering activities from preconstruction through project completion.Coordinate with civil engineers, architects, consultants, contractors, and ownership throughout all phases of development.Manage site development activities, including grading, earthwork, utilities, drainage systems, roadways, parking areas, and site infrastructure.Review civil drawings, specifications, and engineering documents for constructability, accuracy, and code compliance.Oversee project schedules, budgets, and forecasting for civil construction activities.Coordinate permitting, inspections, and approvals with local municipalities and regulatory agencies.Manage procurement of civil subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.Monitor project costs and implement cost-control strategies to maximize profitability.Ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and safety requirements.Identify project risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies.Lead project meetings and maintain communication with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.Prepare and maintain project documentation including progress reports, RFIs, submittals, change orders, punch lists, and closeout documentation.Mentor and support Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and field personnel.Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Preferred Project ExperienceCandidates with experience in one or more of the following are highly preferred:Multifamily Residential DevelopmentsApartment CommunitiesMixed-Use DevelopmentsPodium ConstructionMid-Rise and High-Rise ResidentialLand DevelopmentSite DevelopmentUnderground UtilitiesWater, Sewer, and Storm Drain SystemsEarthwork and GradingRoadway ImprovementsParking Lots and Site InfrastructurePublic and Private Infrastructure ProjectsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.10+ years of civil construction or land development project management experience.Minimum 7 years managing civil scopes for multifamily residential or large-scale land development projects.Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, site development, grading, drainage, utility coordination, and infrastructure construction.Experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and project financial performance.Knowledge of local building codes, zoning requirements, permitting processes, and environmental regulations.Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Technical SkillsExperience with the following software platforms is preferred:AutoCAD Civil 3DAutoCADMicrosoft ProjectProcoreBluebeam RevuMicrosoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)Primavera P6 (preferred)Construction management and project scheduling softwarePreferred SkillsExperience working with municipalities, utility agencies, and entitlement processes.Strong knowledge of grading, stormwater management, erosion control, and utility infrastructure.Experience with value engineering and constructability reviews.Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design and construction teams.Strong contract administration and change management experience.Proven ability to develop long-term client and consultant relationships.Work EnvironmentFull-time position.Combination of office and active construction site responsibilities.Frequent travel to project sites as required.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions during inspections.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required during all field visits.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary starting around $150,000+, depending on experience.Performance-based bonus opportunities.Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.Company-paid Life Insurance.401(k) with employer matching.Paid Vacation, Sick Leave, and Holidays.Professional development, continuing education, and career advancement opportunities.Why Join Us?Join a team delivering high-quality multifamily communities and complex land development projects.
