Trial Paralegal

We are seeking a detail-oriented Trial Paralegal to support our plaintiff-side personal injury litigation team. The Trial Paralegal will manage day-to-day trial preparation, assist attorneys in drafting and filing pleadings and motions, organize trial binders and exhibits, coordinate discovery, and support mediation and trial logistics. The ideal candidate has solid litigation experience, strong organizational skills, and a proven track record preparing cases for trial and hearings.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and organize trial preparation including assembling and maintaining trial binders, exhibit lists, demonstratives, and evidence logs.
• Draft, format, and file pleadings, bills of particulars, subpoenas, motions (including Motions in Limine), and related court documents; ensure timely service and e-filing compliance.
• Coordinate and manage discovery: prepare responses, meet and confer with opposing counsel, review documents, produce discovery, and prepare deposition and discovery summaries.
• Assist attorneys in trial strategy and preparation: prepare witness lists, coordinate witness scheduling, arrange witness subpoenas, and prepare witness binders and outlines.
• Support mediation and settlement conferences by preparing mediation packets, chronology of events, damages summaries, and relevant exhibits.
• Prepare trial exhibits, demonstratives, and exhibit notebooks; coordinate with vendors for copying, trial technology, and trial presentation software.
• Attend court appearances, trials, and hearings as needed to provide on-site support, manage exhibits, and handle filings and logistics.
• Track deadlines, manage calendars, and maintain organized case files (electronic and physical) to ensure compliance with court rules and firm procedures.
• Communicate with clients, medical providers, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel to coordinate information needed for trial preparation.
• Assist in drafting correspondence, discovery motions, and responses; summarize medical records, bills, and expert reports for attorney review.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate, Associate degree, or equivalent experience in litigation support; Bachelors degree preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of paralegal experience with a focus on plaintiff litigation and personal injury trials.
• Demonstrated experience preparing cases for trial, including creating trial binders, preparing pleadings, subpoenas, Bills of Particulars, and Motions in Limine.
• Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court filing systems, e-filing, and local rules.
• Experience with mediation and settlement preparation and familiarity with trial logistics and courtroom procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and superior organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PDF software, case management systems, and familiarity with trial presentation tools preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple cases and deadlines, and travel to hearings and trials as required.
• Professionalism, discretion with confidential client information, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced plaintiff litigation team.
