Job Title Nutrition Associate Job Type Full-time Locations Brattleboro, Vermont Hours Morning shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM Evening shift: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM Schedule Weekend – rotating Holiday – rotating Job Summary Responsible for setting up, transporting, serving, returning, and cleaning all patient food trays. Pour coffee, tea, juice and other beverages. Assist staff with food preparation and area set up as needed. Food preparation includes making snacks, salads, and other cold items. Properly store utensils and supplies for patient and cafeteria areas. Clean kitchen, equipment and floor areas as assigned. Put away stock items and rotate, label and date items as required. Perform additional tasks as assigned by lead or supervisor. Department Scope of Service Nutrition Services provides nutritionally adequate and satisfying meals for patients and customers within a safe and sanitary environment in compliance with federal, state, and local standards. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. No prior experience required. No licensure or certification required. Mental Efforts Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions. Work environment may involve potential injury from washing, cleaning agents, and dish machine. Exposure to noise, hazardous chemicals, temperature changes, and body fluids. OSHA Category OSHA Category I – tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues; Universal Precautions and bloodborne pathogens standards are required. Physical Demands Physical activities: Standing – up to 1/3 of shift; Walking – up to 1/3; Sitting – 2/3 or more; Talking or hearing – 2/3 or more; Use of hands – up to 1/3; Pushing/pulling – none; Reaching – up to 1/3. Weight lifting: Up to 10 lb – 2/3 or more; 10‑25 lb – 1/3 to 1/2; 25‑50 lb – up to 1/3; 50‑100 lb and over – none. Vision Requirements Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). Color vision. Ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Exposure to wet, humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals – proportions up to 1/3. No outdoor weather, extreme heat or cold, electrical shock, explosives, radiation, vibration. Noise level: Very quiet, quiet, moderate noise, loud noise. Hearing: Ability to hear calls and instructions from physicians and staff.
