Mammography Technologist - Breast Imaging Centers / East Region / Contingent

MAMMOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST - PRN / CONTINGENT - DAY SHIFT

*Please note, this position will travel to eight breast imaging centers within the Henry Ford Health east region to provide coverage as needed.

Schedule: Days, PRN. Facility Operating Hours are 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM

General Summary:

• Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs Radiologic breast imaging procedures for the evaluation of pathological entities as ordered by a physician.

• Performs related functions according to department protocols.

• Utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning, and safety practices.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.

• Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and the advanced registry in Mammography, ARRT (M) (or registry eligible).

• If registry eligible, registry must be obtained within 12 months of date of hire.

• Failure to obtain registry within the designated timeframe will result in termination of the Mammography Tech position.

• Must maintain the required hours of continued medical education.

• Must meet all Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) criteria, as well as other regulatory agencies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• CPR certified.

• Proficient in screening and diagnostic mammography

• Able to perform weekly QC tasks.
