Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care on a Medical Surgical unit specializing in infectious diseases. The RN will collaborate within a dynamic team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop appropriate care plans in accordance with unit protocols.
• Administer medications, including titratable drips such as Heparin and antibiotics, following established guidelines.
• Monitor patients using remote telemetry systems and interpret strips as needed.
• Collaborate with charge nurses and support staff to ensure efficient unit operations and patient safety.
• Adhere to infection control practices, including isolation precautions and CDC guidelines.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic medical records.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with relevant clinical experience in MedSurg and Infectious Disease settings.
• BLS certification is mandatory; additional certifications are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of isolation protocols, infectious disease management, and medication titration.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including every-other-weekend schedule and holiday coverage.
• Comfortable with unit floating to other MedSurg departments and Tele units as required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
