DescriptionResponsibilitiesThe Manager, Product Management will be heavily involved in every stage of the product management lifecycle, while also managing a team as described below:Managing a teamMentor staff and team members, with a focus on professional growth, product ownership and leadership.Constantly be in a mode to recommend solutions.Provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff.Combines a high level of understanding with the ability to manage a group responsible for delivering multiple creative and unique solutions.Work independently as well as in a team.Manages the design of solutions for a group of products/services, extracting the very best out of the staff responsible for design.Accepts ownership for group of products/services regarding delivery.Enables team to think creatively and out of the box, providing team with ideas, resources, and support.Achieves scale in work efforts by enabling the work of others. Ensures the right people with the right knowledge and expertise are involved in decisions.Contribute to the advancement of the team environment through integrity, leadership, and continuous knowledge transfer.Product Knowledge and SkillsUnderstand and communicate issues, ideas and solutions at the highest levels, providing direction and solutions to address unique situations.Create and maintain relationships with key personnel in order to engage in requirements validation and to stay abreast of upcoming changes/additions to requirements.Collaborate with senior management to effectively communicate issues, ideas, and solutions.Communicate with senior management on the product’s performance, any major issues with the products or any changes in the market or competition as related to the product area.Complete tasks with no input or direction.Proactively listen to client feedback and determine the best way to meet the requirements.Demonstrate excellent partnering, communication, and negotiating skills in order to gather requirements and communicate effectively with other departments as necessary.Maintain composure under pressure and accurately access and resolve problem situations.Work effectively in a fast paced, team based, customer service-oriented environment.Adapt to changing product and environments.Tailors' communication to a variety of audiences and perspectives and anticipates issues to prevent conflict.Establish organizational alignment and buy-in of future product strategy.Champion new technologies and functions required to keep Tyler competitive.Influence priorities of department work.Create plans and strategies to achieve the product objectives, including published product roadmaps that will articulate the product direction to both internal departments and external customers.QualificationsBachelor's degree Computer Sciences, Management Information Science, or Business.Equivalent work experience may substitute for degree requirement.A minimum of 12 years of experience in software or related environment.Proven track record of the highest knowledge.Highly advanced knowledge of Agile SCRUM development processes.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent knowledge and understanding of the full software development lifecycle and associated methodologies helpful.Keen attention to detail.Excellent planning and organizational skills involving the ability to manage multiple work tasks effectively.Excellent time management skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills involving communicating technical and non-technical information in writing and verbally.Knowledge and experience with data modeling, relational databases concepts, and understanding SQL queries.Proficient with Microsoft Office.Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team as well as across functional groups.Ability to be effective in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to travel occasionally.
