As a Pharmacy Manager, you will lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities. Pharmacy Managers support novel program awareness, onboard newly hired pharmacy team members, and recognize colleagues for their success. The Pharmacy Manager consistently exhibits best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing patients with meaningful counseling, and abiding by all legal and regulatory guidelines, amongst other required activities. Responsibilities Lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change. Onboard newly hired pharmacy team members and recognize colleagues for their success. Provide patients with meaningful counseling and abide by all legal and regulatory guidelines. Manage operations to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment and compliance with pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Deliver immunizations and proactively support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize. Maintain inventory management with focus on protecting cold chain products. Conduct onboarding for new technicians and pharmacists storewide, ensuring timely completion of required training and licensure. Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and escalate issues as needed. Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline and cross-training for licensure. Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, deliver annual performance reviews, and close gaps as needed. Establish a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; manage pharmacy scheduling. Review business reporting and develop action plans to improve workflow, service, patient care, and compliance. Foster a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion; encourage feedback and take action where appropriate. Maintain clinical and technical skills with ongoing trainings and CMEs; seek opportunities to expand knowledge to support patients. Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care (e.g., testing and prescribing services where permissible). Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, standards, and CVS Health policies; ensure patient privacy and a safe workplace. Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1–2 years of experience as a Pharmacist. Essential Functions Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe. Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot between tasks to meet patient and business needs, and ensure prescription labeling accuracy. Customer service and team orientation: proactively assist others and respond to patient reactions. Communication skills: effective verbal and written interaction with patients and colleagues; active listening. Mathematical reasoning: calculate day’s supply, number of tablets, and other dispensing details. Problem resolution: navigate challenging interactions and choose appropriate actions. Physical demands: ability to be mobile, lift and handle items, reach, and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills; close visual acuity for computer work and small parts. Team management and leadership: lead by example, delegate tasks, motivate and coach the team, and address performance concerns. Other tasks as directed by supervision or management. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM-EL) program. 3–5 years of related experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings. Ability to work in the home store and across markets as needed. Additional Details Anticipated weekly hours: 40. Time Type: Full time. Pay Range: $65.00 - $85.00 per hour; base pay varies by experience, education, and location. Eligible for CVS Health bonus or short-term incentive program in addition to base pay.
