SUMMARY:

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of the facility's heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. At Arandell, this role is vital to ensuring a controlled environment for our high-end printing equipment and a comfortable atmosphere for our team. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will perform preventative maintenance and rapid-response troubleshooting to minimize downtime and ensure energy efficiency across the plant.

Wage Range: $60K-$75K/year, based on experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO ON THE A-TEAM:

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on industrial HVAC units, including boilers, chillers, air handling units (AHUs), and rooftop units.
• Monitor and calibrate building automation systems (BAS) to maintain strict temperature and humidity levels required for optimal pressroom performance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical components, including compressors, motors, fans, pumps, and thermostats, to ensure continuous operation.
• Analyze system performance and recommend upgrades or adjustments to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OSHA standards, local building codes, and EPA regulations regarding refrigerant handling.
• Work closely with the Facilities team to assist on general building maintenance projects and coordinate with outside contractors for major system overhauls.
• Maintain accurate logs of all repairs, refrigerant usage, and preventative maintenance schedules within the department's tracking system.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Minimum of 3–5 years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience. Previous experience in a manufacturing or printing environment is highly preferred.
• Must hold an EPA Section 608 Universal Certification. A valid Journeyman license or HVAC technical degree is a plus.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, PLC controls, pneumatic systems, and commercial refrigeration cycles.
• A "results-oriented" mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical failures under tight deadlines.
• Ability to clearly explain technical issues to management and collaborate effectively with the production team.
• Proficient in using specialized tools, including multimeters, manifold gauges, leak detectors, and vacuum pumps.

• Frequent standing, walking, and climbing ladders or scaffolding to access rooftop units and overhead ductwork.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and crawling in confined spaces or around large machinery.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance.
• Must be comfortable working in varying conditions, including pungent smells, loud production floors, rooftops in diverse weather, and mechanical rooms.
• Close vision and the ability to distinguish color-coded wiring are essential for safe electrical repairs.
