Location: 1750 Shop Rd, Fort Gregg-Adams, VA 23801

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Install and repair hydronic systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Uses diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and drawings to perform repairs and maintenance.
• Install and clean air and water filters.
• Install and repair low temperature refrigeration systems.
• Install and program thermostats.
• Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts.
• Connect motors, compressors, controls, and fans to control panels, and control panels to power source.
• Ensures completed work meets quality control standards.
• Communicate with scheduler to update status of repairs and estimate completion dates.
• Must be able to work independently and as a team.

Qualifications:

• Licensed by the State of Virginia as a Master or Journeyman HVAC Mechanic.
• Type II Technician
• Minimum of at least 7 years' experience working on commercial heating/air conditioning/refrigeration systems and controls.
• Ability to work in a variety of different environments, including inclement weather and high man lifts.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
• Thorough knowledge of Safety procedures and regulations.
• Must be able to provide customer service in a professional and courteous manner
• Must have the ability and be willing to work outside of normal working hours such as back shift and weekends, in the event of unplanned outages.
• If on call, you must be able to respond within one hour.
• Trane, York, or McQuay factory chiller certified preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crawl, reach, push, pull, and climb.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

Security Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Ft Lee, Virginia installation clearance and CAC card.
• Required drug screening, physical, and background check

Driving Requirements:

• A valid state driver license is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by HMG's insurance company.
