OnPath Credit Union – Accountant I – Sales Team Location: Corporate Office, Metairie, LA Job ID: 434 | # of Openings: 1 Salary: $56,159.83 – $70,199.78 (based on skills and experience) Role As a dedicated member of the OnPath FCU team, you will perform a variety of tasks that, in partnership with surrounding departments, provide cost‑effective financial services for the benefit of our members. Primary Function Responsible for analyzing and reconciling detailed general ledger accounts, keeping records accurate and current, researching and resolving discrepancies and accounting errors, and completing related reports, summaries, and records. The Accountant I will assist employees in the Accounting Department and all appropriate internal credit union partners. Conduct daily business interactions, maintain alignment with OnPath’s mission, promote a positive image, and support credit union goals. Major Duties and Responsibilities Reconcile assigned general ledger and bank accounts; research and correct general ledger account discrepancies and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare and post general ledger journal entries, including all appropriate backup information. Serve as backup to the Accounts Payable Associate. Assist in accurate and timely reporting of financial results in accordance with GAAP. Participate in special projects and perform financial analytics to support new contracts, products, or services as needed. Assist with 1099 reporting. Provide written/video procedures for primary assignments and train others on primary responsibilities. Comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Knowledge and Skills Experience: Six months to two years of similar or related experience, including preparatory positions. Knowledge: Accounting concepts and procedures including account reconciliation; related computer applications. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management. Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy and tact; ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members; brief, clear discussions. Other Skills: Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, statutes, regulations, codes, and standards related to the area of responsibility; proficiency with database software and the MS Office suite. ADA Requirements Physical Requirements: Regularly sit, use hands to finger/handle, reach with hands, view information, talk or hear; frequently stand and walk; lift and/or move up to 5 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds.
