Critical Thinking & Analytical Skills

• Create cost-conscious, production-efficient schedules for finished goods and subassemblies.

• Balance capacity vs. demand across labor, machines, tooling, and material constraints.

• Analyze utilization data and convert findings into scheduling adjustments.

• Identify risks early and propose alternate actions to maintain level-loaded production.

• Use sound judgment when weighing inventory, overtime, expedites, and customer service.

Communication & Escalation Skills

• Proactively escalate labor shortages/surpluses by shift or day.

• Escalate missing or constrained tooling, racks, bins, or materials.

• Communicate schedule attainment risks and setup timing conflicts.

• Align expectations with production, maintenance, and leadership.

• Notify customers promptly of potential shortages or delays.

• Communicate monetary impacts such as inventory exposure, overtime, and expediting costs.

Scheduling & Planning Skills

• Develop and maintain short-term and mid-term production schedules.

• Sequence jobs around die availability, setup timing, labor, and material readiness.

• Understand setup windows and constraints, including overnight vs. same-shift die changes.

• Ensure work orders are released at least 12 hours before production.

• Review, reconcile, and close work orders accurately by month-end.

Systems & Data Skills

• Use Sage or similar ERP systems for work order creation, scheduling support, transaction accuracy, and closure.

• Use Excel/spreadsheets for resource utilization charts, capacity analysis, schedule visibility, and reporting.

• Maintain high data integrity in planning systems.

Manufacturing & Process Knowledge

• Working knowledge of assembly and cold stamping operations.

• Understand tooling, dies, racks, bins, and master samples required for production readiness.

• Recognize production flow, bottlenecks, and shop-floor constraints.

• Understand how scheduling decisions affect safety, quality, throughput, and cost.

Accountability & Execution

• Own schedule adherence and execution readiness.

• Follow up on production results and close gaps.

• Manage multiple jobs in an organized, disciplined manner.

• Work effectively in a fast-paced, small-plant environment where priorities shift.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Metal stamping or high-mix manufacturing experience.

• Exposure to lean manufacturing or level-loading concepts.

• Experience working directly with customers on delivery commitments.
