The Role
- Full-time, hospital-based Area Chief of Staff position with both clinical and leadership responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop associate veterinarians to ensure consistent, high-quality medicine across assigned hospitals
- Serve as Responsible Veterinarian for applicable permits; oversee controlled substance compliance and inventory management
- Partner with practice leadership to deliver clinical quality, operational KPIs, and an outstanding client experience
- Conduct medical record and quality reviews; implement improvement plans to maintain clinical standards and regulatory compliance
- Champion preventive care standards and efficient workflows; support client communication and case follow-up
- Drive onboarding and ongoing coaching for newly hired doctors, fostering growth in clinical, surgical, and dental competencies
- Collaborate with talent teams to attract veterinary candidates; host externs and observational visits
- Manage requests for medical equipment and ensure proper maintenance and utilization
- Provide direct patient care a portion of the week; occasional local travel between assigned sites may be required

Requirements
- DVM or VMD from an accredited veterinary program
- Active license (or eligibility) to practice in New York
- DEA registration (or eligibility) and strong understanding of controlled substance protocols
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Proven experience in general practice, including routine surgery and dentistry
- Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of mentoring and developing veterinarians
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with computer-based medical records and standard clinical software
