American Workforce Group has partnered with a dedicated commercial grounds contractor in Longview, WA to hire a dependable, safety-focused Industrial Grounds Maintenance Laborer .

DEDICATED 32-HOUR WEEKLY SCHEDULE & VALUABLE INDUSTRIAL MILL SITE CERTIFICATIONS! In this active outdoor position, you will perform essential grounds maintenance and vegetation management exclusively across major industrial mill facilities (including local timber, pulp, and paper operations—zero residential lawn care). Your daily tasks will include operating commercial string trimmers (weed eaters), heavy-duty backpack blowers, clearing brush and dragging limbs to commercial chippers, and maintaining clean, hazard-free safety perimeters and fence lines. Starting at $20.00 / hour DOE with a 7:30 AM dispatch, all mill contractor safety orientations are fully provided. • Execute commercial-scale grounds maintenance, brush clearing, and perimeter vegetation management across local industrial mill complexes.
• Safely operate commercial gas-powered landscape equipment, including string trimmers, edgers, hedge trimmers, and commercial backpack blowers.
• Drag brush, tree limbs, heavy cuttings, and vegetation debris directly to wood chippers for processing.
• Weed, edge, clear gravel perimeters, and clear access roads, rail spurs, fire hydrants, and security fence lines to ensure facility compliance.
• Complete online and on-site industrial contractor safety training modules prior to site access (including Weyerhaeuser and NORPAC contractor safety protocols).
• Conduct daily pre-shift inspections and basic maintenance on assigned small-engine equipment (checking fuel mixtures, trimmer line, air filters, and oil levels).
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE provided) and adhere strictly to high-visibility standards, eye/ear protection, and mill traffic rules.
• Maintain spotless, professional worksites and demonstrate zero-compromise safety around industrial machinery and heavy mill transport traffic.

• Pay Rate: Starting at $20.00 / hour (Scaling based on commercial landscaping, equipment operation, or mill experience / DOE).
• Hours: 32 hours per week.
• Shift Schedule Options:
• Option A: Saturday through Tuesday (7:30 AM start).
• Option B: Sunday through Wednesday (7:30 AM start).
• Worksite: Industrial mill sites in Longview, WA (Commercial/industrial facility grounds only — zero residential accounts).
• Safety & PPE: All specialized PPE is fully provided; comprehensive mill contractor safety orientations are completed prior to site entry.
• Position Type: Long-term opportunity with steady weekly hours.

• Mill Property Access: Must possess a valid Driver's License, a reliable personal vehicle, and current auto insurance to drive through industrial mill security gates and security checkpoints.
• Physical Capabilities: High-stamina outdoor role requiring the ability to walk and stand continuously on varied terrain (gravel, dirt, incline) throughout the day, drag brush, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Equipment Familiarity: Proven comfort or prior experience operating gas-powered string trimmers, backpack blowers, and outdoor power tools.
• Contractor Site Training: Must be able to complete mandatory contractor safety training modules (online contractor orientations for Longview mill facilities).
• Footwear: Must have your own leather steel-toed work boots upon starting.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Reliable personal habits, dependable morning punctuality, and a strong, safety-first mindset.
