Tax Manager - LATAM & Caribbean

Responsible for the group’s tax strategy for Latin America and all the tax matters of the Group shipping agencies, Regional carrier and inland transportation entities established in the LATAM region (Latin America), definition of taxation applicable to current and new products, approval of tax optimization projects, supervision of entities’ tax compliance, and responsible to coordinate the information sharing process to the Head Office (based in France) and the Regional Office (based in the US) for tax reporting purposes. The position requires deep technical knowledge about international taxation, application of double tax treaties, corporate taxation, and indirect taxation, with solid understanding of law and accounting aspects. The work requires extensive communication with internal stakeholders from finance, legal, general management, and business departments, as well as with external advisors (legal, tax, and accounting). Responsibilities Assist Group companies established in the LATAM region in tax audits with the support of local advisors (if any) Assist in the development of secure and optimized tax solutions for various entities of the Group established in the LATAM region Ensure tax monitoring (potential tax initiatives that may impact the group) and conduct ad hoc studies and projects in the LATAM region (upon request) Be involved in restructuring operations (if any) Liaise and communicate with various internal and external stakeholders based in Europe, the US and LATAM Elaborate, complete, and share tax materials and supports to the Head Office and Regional Office Be involved in the validation of tax liabilities for Group entities established in the LATAM region Tax review of Group entities established in the LATAM region. Provides written analysis and implementing solutions with respect to various tax matters/issues in an international context. Requirements Master’s degree in tax law Experience within the tax department of an international Group, and/or a business law firm Specialized in tax matters within an international context (analysis of double tax agreements, OECD/UN model tax conventions and related commentaries, foreign tax regulations, etc.) Speaking English and Spanish and/or Portuguese Come along on CMA CGM’s adventure!
