Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We offer a fast-paced, innovative environment where you will be trained and empowered to perform broad engineering activities to support our global customer base.We are searching for a highly skilled individual who can work on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning. The goal is to design and fabricate mechanical / electro-mechanical components of innovation and excellence for the semiconductor industry.This is a fully on-site position. Applicants must be located near the Coopersburg, PA area.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform a full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement) for capital equipment product lines and subassembliesDesign systems and components that meet custom needs and requirements specific to customersConduct experiments methodically, analyze data and interpret resultsQuickly identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problemsAlter and modify design to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctionsSolicit observations from operators, customers, vendors, marketingPrepare product reports and documentationMaintain Bill of Materials, work instructions and assembly drawings in parallel to each otherEngage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methodsProtects operations by keeping information confidential.Participate in product design reviewsProvide assistance to Technical Support and Service personnel.RequirementsTechnical Skills:MUST have a strong design background and have experience with building equipment from scratch.Comfortable with some version control issues and navigating through drawings in different Lan shares.Proven working experience in mechanical engineering.Ability to independently become familiar with issues, prioritize responsibilities and drive solutions without direct supervision.Proficiency in 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (Inventor preferred).Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.Working experience with fluid dynamics, finite element analysis (FEA), magnetic and thermal modeling a plus.Hands-on technical experience with fabrication, mechanical assembly and wiring a plus.Hands-on experience with Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) highly desirable.Creativity and analytical skills.Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.Must have good organizational & troubleshooting skills.Computer skills to include Microsoft Office products- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.Education Requirements:BSME or equivalent Bachelor's degree required.Minimum 7-10 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer for a manufacturing, defense, or semiconductor related industry.
