About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: RN License in the state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Epic experience is a bonus. Description: Two positions available. Shifts are from 7 AM to 7 PM. The unit focuses on post-surgical patients, including orthopedics and general surgery, as well as neuro populations. The competent nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care while developing the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Responsibilities include meeting expectations of applicable competencies. Consistent with nursing standards, provides care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication administration, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
