Lead Installer – Garage Force

Location: Naperville, Illinois
Employment Type: Full-time (Seasonal: March-November).

Part-time (Off-season: December-February). Scheduling is dependent on weather and workload.
Compensation: $23–30 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends as project schedules require

Position Summary

Garage Force is seeking a dependable, experienced Lead Installer to supervise concrete-coating installations and deliver consistently high-quality results. This hands-on position leads an installation crew through surface preparation, concrete repair, product application, cleanup, and final customer walkthroughs.

The ideal candidate combines construction or coatings experience with strong leadership, attention to detail, and excellent customer service. Most projects involve garages, patios, basements, workshops, pool decks, and commercial concrete surfaces. Essential Responsibilities

• Lead a crew through each phase of the concrete-coating installation process.
• Review work orders, measurements, color selections, and project requirements before beginning work.
• Inspect concrete for cracks, moisture concerns, contamination, damage, and other conditions that may affect the installation.
• Prepare concrete using diamond grinders, hand grinders, HEPA dust-control equipment, and other approved tools.
• Complete crack, joint, spall, and surface repairs according to company standards.
• Accurately measure, mix, and apply Garage Force coating products.
• Apply base coats, decorative chips or quartz aggregates, and protective topcoats evenly and efficiently.
• Monitor temperature, humidity, surface condition, coverage rates, and curing requirements.
• Assign tasks, train installers, and maintain a safe and productive jobsite.
• Protect walls, doors, driveways, landscaping, and customers’ belongings during installation.
• Maintain quality standards and correct installation issues before leaving the jobsite.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding arrival, project expectations, care instructions, and completion.
• Photograph and document project conditions, progress, materials, and finished work.
• Maintain accurate material-use, warranty, and installation records.
• Load, unload, clean, inspect, and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Keep jobsites, vehicles, storage areas, and work areas clean and organized.
• Report equipment problems, material shortages, safety concerns, or customer issues promptly.
• Follow all Garage Force procedures, product instructions, and workplace-safety requirements.

Leadership Expectations

• Set the pace for safety, workmanship, professionalism, and customer care.
• Train new installers in surface preparation, product application, equipment operation, and jobsite procedures.
• Confirm that crew members understand their assignments and work safely.
• Manage project timelines without sacrificing installation quality.
• Identify potential problems early and communicate solutions to management.
• Create a respectful, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.

Required Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in concrete coatings, flooring, construction, painting, remodeling, or a related trade.
• Previous crew-lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience using grinders, industrial vacuums, hand tools, and power tools.
• Ability to read work orders, follow technical instructions, and calculate measurements and material quantities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Professional communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound jobsite decisions.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
• Ability to pass any required job-related background check, motor-vehicle review, or drug screening.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift and carry up to 50–75 pounds.
• Stand, walk, kneel, bend, squat, and reach for extended periods.
• Operate heavy grinding and surface-preparation equipment.
• Work in garages, basements, commercial spaces, and outdoor environments.
• Work around dust, noise, odors, coatings, and changing temperatures while using required protective equipment.
• Wear safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, protective footwear, and respiratory protection when required.
• Safely enter and exit company vehicles and load or unload equipment.
