Assistant Mechanic Old Overton Club, located in Vestavia Hills, AL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for an Assistant Mechanic! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality‑focused property organization. As part of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management. Key Responsibilities Overhauls and repairs maintenance vehicles, mowing equipment and other power equipment. Lubricates and services all equipment. Inspects equipment for operating deficiencies and makes routine adjustments where necessary. Maintains up-to-date understanding of hydraulic systems, repairs, and their components. Inspects, changes and repairs tires. Assists in controlling tool access and use by maintenance staff. Cleans working areas after repair work is completed. Assists in fabricating, body repair and painting. Adjusts cutting units on mowing equipment. When servicing of equipment is complete, will assist on maintenance crew and may operate mowing equipment. Assists in training the maintenance staff in the proper care and upkeep of the golf course equipment. May be called upon to operate or train to operate various types of maintenance equipment. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Performs other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Certificate from college or technical school. Must have 2 plus years’ experience with small engine repairs and maintenance. Must have valid driver’s license. Other Qualifications Must be a quick learner and able to work in a fast pace environment. Bi‑lingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
