Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Department in Worthington, Minnesota, is seeking qualified registered nurses for night shift assignments. These positions involve providing care for obstetric, postpartum, and neonatal patients, with responsibilities including interpretation of fetal monitor strips, attendance at vaginal deliveries, and immediate newborn resuscitation. The roles require working in a fast-paced, acute care environment with a focus on maternal and neonatal health.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts lasting 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse, minimum of 2 years of experience in interpretation of fetal monitor strips, attendance at vaginal deliveries, and immediate newborn resuscitation. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Specific Unit/Department Details: The unit is a 12-bed facility with designated triage, labor and recovery, postpartum, and well-newborn areas. The nurse-to-patient ratio is approximately 1:2-3 for mother/baby couplets, 1:2 for early labor, 1:1 for active labor, and 1:3 postpartum. The department uses EPIC computer charting, OBIX fetal monitoring, and Acudose medication dispensing.
• Orientation and Training: New hire safety program, emergency management case training, equipment competency, and charting system training, totaling 2-3 days based on experience.
• Additional Information: Floating to other units/departments may be required, primarily within Womens Center and occasionally to General Medical units if census warrants. Weekend shifts, including Friday through Sunday, are required, with options for weekend-only contracts or night contracts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
