Due to high visibility and significant patient interaction, this position is frequently the first responder to a variety of patient situations, such as codes, behavioral outbursts, attempts to introduce contraband, and medical issues. The MHT adjusts therapeutic approach to acuity, age, gender and cultural considerations. Does not assume independent responsibility for patient care. Job duties are performed in a manner consistent with the policies, procedures and guidelines of Voyages Behavioral Health. Qualifications Education and Training: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) where required by state where the hospital resides preferred. Current BLS certification is required. Crisis management certification per hospital policy and standards required. Experience: None required.
