Job Description:

The Registered Nurse Med/Surg will be assigned a home unit on the first day of orientation and is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing general surgery, vascular surgeries, and other medical conditions in a Trauma Surgical Unit.

Responsibilities:

• Provide wound care, chest tube management, NGT, IV skills, and medication administration/documentation.
• Assess, prioritize, communicate, and document patient care activities.
• Monitor tele strips and confirm readings every 4 hours.

Requirements:

• Minimum 18 months of experience in MedSurg and/or ICU with Cerner or EPIC experience.
• BLS and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Proficiency in Cerner EMR, IV starts, and management of central lines, trach care, and other surgical skills.
