Chief Financial Officer

This is a confidential search for an upgraded version of a current role. This North Texas company will be revealed early in the process. Position Summary The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a strategic executive responsible for leading the financial operations of a growing manufacturing company in the DFW metroplex. Reporting directly to the CEO (and partnering with Private Equity ownership), the CFO provides financial leadership that supports profitable growth, operational excellence, and long-term enterprise value. The CFO oversees all aspects of accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), treasury, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, banking relationships, compliance, risk management, and information technology. This individual serves as a strategic business partner to the executive leadership team and helps drive operational performance through data-driven decision making. Primary Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to develop and execute the company's strategic plan. Provide financial insight into business decisions, capital investments, pricing strategies, and growth opportunities. Develop long-range financial models supporting revenue growth, profitability, and EBITDA objectives. Present financial results, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to ownership, lenders, and Board members. Identify operational improvement opportunities through financial analysis. Financial Planning & Analysis Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts. Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts. Monitor key financial and operational KPIs. Analyze profitability by product line, customer, and business segment. Recommend actions to improve margins, cash flow, and return on investment. Provide scenario modeling for major business decisions. Accounting & Financial Reporting Oversee all accounting operations including: General Ledger Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Fixed Assets Cost Accounting Inventory Accounting Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial close. Produce monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Maintain internal financial controls. Coordinate annual audits and tax filings. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements. Manufacturing Finance Lead financial oversight of manufacturing operations. Analyze: Standard costs Labor efficiencies Material usage Scrap Variances Inventory accuracy Gross margin Partner with Operations to improve manufacturing performance. Support inventory controls and physical inventory processes. Evaluate capital expenditures and manufacturing investments. Cash Management & Treasury Manage company cash flow and working capital. Develop weekly and monthly cash forecasts. Maintain banking relationships. Oversee borrowing facilities and debt compliance. Optimize cash conversion cycle. Manage capital expenditures and financing strategies. Business Analytics Develop executive dashboards covering: Revenue EBITDA Gross Margin Labor Efficiency Inventory Turns Working Capital Cash Flow Provide actionable recommendations based on business trends. Risk Management & Compliance Lead annual Financial and bank audits Ensure compliance with all financial regulations. Maintain strong internal controls. Oversee insurance programs including: Property General Liability Workers' Compensation Cyber Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and legal counsel. Assess business risks and mitigation strategies. Information Technology Provide executive oversight of: ERP System Financial Systems Cybersecurity IT Infrastructure Data Integrity Business Intelligence Tools Partner with IT resources to improve automation and reporting. Leadership Lead and develop the Finance organization, including: Accounting Manager Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable FP&A (future) IT Build a high-performing finance team focused on continuous improvement. Improve forecast accuracy to within ±5%. Strengthen cash flow and working capital management. Develop executive dashboards that provide clear operational and financial insights. Partner with Operations to improve gross margins through cost controls and manufacturing efficiencies. Build a scalable finance function capable of supporting growth beyond $45 million in revenue. Establish strong financial discipline, internal controls, and strategic planning processes that position the company for sustainable growth or future transactions.
