- You will respond to emergencies as a member of an Engine Company, Truck Company, Rescue Company, Hazardous Materials Team and/or a Rescue Team.
- You will participate in daily training and instruction classes covering all phases of fire protection, fire prevention and emergency medical services.
- You will act as the driver/operator of an emergency response pumper/ladder, brush fire fighting, ambulance, hazardous material response, or other rescue vehicle as required.
- You will respond all hazardous materials incidents as required.
- You will perform daily preventative maintenance inspections of firefighting transport vehicles, tools, and medical equipment.
- You will respond to all medical emergencies and provides advanced patient assessment and treatment for victims of fire, sudden illness, accident injuries, childbirth, and other events requiring medical intervention.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You must possess a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to work an uncommon tour of duty (may include weekend, nights, overtime, or holidays) and rotating shift work.
- This position requires rotating shift work. 3 (24-hr) shifts per week
- Candidates for firefighter positions must not have reached their 37th birthday by date of appointment. Information on exceptions and waivers:
